AI Detector

Catch AI play while the game is on

A free detection tool made by Dangge (当哥). During a game it reads the game’s action records in real time, and when it finds actions no human hand can make it tells you right away in the top-right corner of the game screen. After the game it analyses replays too.

Free, no sign-up No install: a single exe Never goes online, reads memory only
Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) only. It does not run on macOS, Linux, phones or tablets.

Features

Watches during the game, checks after it

Just keep it running. It shows one short line on screen when something is wrong and keeps the details in a report.

Live detection

During a game it reads the game’s action records every 0.5 seconds. Once it reaches a verdict it shows “X is likely using AI” and the confidence in the top-right corner of the game screen (below the resources) and stops checking that game. APM and other numbers go into the report.

Replay analysis

Click “Analyse replays…” or drop .rep files onto the window for a one-line verdict per player. Remastered and 1.16.1 replays, several at a time, without starting the game.

Read-only, the game stays untouched

It only reads memory through Windows’ read-only functions: no injection, no memory writes, no game commands, and it never plays for you. It checks the game version at start and does not read unknown versions.

Never goes online

It does not connect to the internet at all, and there is no sign-up or login. Replays, action records and reports stay on your PC.

Korean, English, ChineseNEW

The app, the in-game notes and the reports follow your Windows display language: Korean, Chinese, or English for everything else.

Nothing to install

A single exe: no VC++ runtime or .NET needed, only components that come with Windows.

A detection is statistical evidence, not proof. Check the rules of your platform or tournament before using the detector there, and do not use its results to blame or harass other players.
How it works

Only actions no human hand can make

APM is never the test, because top players have high APM too. We look for two traces that are physically impossible for a person but come naturally to a program.

A

Two armies commanded in one frame

A game frame lasts about 42 ms. To give orders to two different groups within the same frame, a person has to switch groups and click again, which takes several frames at least. A program can do it all at once.

B

Old selection restored right after an order

Right after an order, another group is reselected in the same frame. This is the trace an AI assistant leaves when it acts for the player and then hands the selection back.

Counting starts 15 seconds into the game and no verdict comes before 1.5 minutes; a trace must appear at least 8 times and at least 3 times per minute. One or two accidents never trigger it.

A program is playing

The traces above, and almost no control-group hotkeys (fewer than 5 per minute).

The traces above, while control-group hotkeys are in normal use.

No alert

A few suspicious actions: report only

If the traces stay at 1–3 per minute until the end of the game, nothing is shown on screen; the report notes “a few suspicious actions”.

Validation

Tested on real replays

All test replays were re-run the way live detection works: a verdict as soon as the conditions are met at any point of the game.

Get started

Up and running in three minutes

Only one player in the game needs to run it: it checks every player with recorded actions, including you.

Download and unzip

Download the zip on a Windows PC and unzip it to any folder (do not run it from inside the zip).

Run it

Run SCAIDetector.exe; there is nothing to install and no sign-up. If Windows says “Windows protected your PC”, click “More info” → “Run anyway”. Start it before or after the game, either works.

Play as usual

The “Live detection” card shows “Game in progress”. An AI verdict comes after about 1:45 of play, once there is enough evidence.

Read the note, open the report

If someone uses AI, a note appears in the top-right corner of the game. After the game, click “Open reports folder” for APM and other details.

Analyse replays

Drop .rep files onto the window or click “Analyse replays…” to pick several. Each replay gets a card; click it for the full report. No install for a quick check: analyse a replay on the web →

FAQ

FAQ

Is it really free?

Yes. Download it and use it: there is no sign-up, no login and nothing to pay.

Does it go online or send my data anywhere?

No. The detector never connects to the internet. Replays, action records and reports are saved on your PC only and are never sent anywhere.

Why Windows only?

The detector reads the process memory of the Windows version of StarCraft: Remastered and draws its window with components built into Windows, so it runs on Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit) only. It does not run on Macs, Linux, phones or tablets, and StarCraft for Mac is not supported.

If you are reading this on a phone, copy the link and download the detector on a Windows PC.

Windows says “Windows protected your PC”

The app is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you. Click “More info” → “Run anyway”. To make sure you have the right file, compare it with the SHA-256 values in the download section.

Does 99% confidence mean AI for sure?

Confidence is the strength of the evidence, not a verdict. 99% means humanly impossible actions appeared and control-group hotkeys were almost never used; 90% means it looks like a human with AI assistance. Please check the report (APM, hotkey use, when the suspicious actions happened) and the replay.

Can I use a detection to report a player?

A detection is statistical evidence, not proof of cheating. If you report someone, follow the rules and process of that platform or tournament, and please do not use the results to publicly blame or harass anyone.

Do all players need to run it?

No. When one player runs it, every player in the game is checked; it does not matter which one is you.

The app says it cannot read the game

Usually the game is running as administrator. Right-click SCAIDetector.exe → “Run as administrator”.

The app says the game version is not supported

Live detection supports StarCraft: Remastered 1.23.10.13515 (64-bit) only and refuses other versions so that the data it reads is always correct. Replay analysis is not affected.

I do not see the note in the game

First check that the detector window shows “Game in progress”. If a detection happened but the game shows no note, set the game’s display mode to “Fullscreen (Windowed)”. Live detection is off while you watch a replay; use “Analyse replays” for replays.

Will it affect my game?

It does not modify the game: it only reads memory, never injects code, writes game memory or sends commands, and it never plays for you. Before using it on other platforms or in tournaments, please check their rules.

Keep the game between humans

Download, unzip, run, and start your next game.
